About the Church
Occidental United Presbyterian Church has shined a light into the Eagle Rock neighborhood for over 100 years. We are a warm, welcoming, and inviting congregation that would love to meet you. Whether you're a seeker or a life-long Christian, you are welcome here. Come join us for worship at 9:30 AM on Sunday mornings; we are located on the corner of Eagle Rock and York Blvd's. Parking is available in our lot behind the church, enter the door with the blue awning and walk down the hall until you come to the steps going downstairs; a chair lift is available for those with limited mobility. After taking the stairs down, make a right then a quick left to access our sanctuary.
About the Pastor
We are thrilled to welcome Tiffany Ashworth as our new Pastor. Tiffany felt called to serve the church at a young age but only pursued formal ministry after teaching high school English for several years. Tiffany earned her B.A. and Single Subject Teaching Credential in English at Long Beach State University before later graduating with her Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2020. As of March 2023, Tiffany will be an ordained Teaching Elder in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Tiffany was the recipient of the Presbyterian Leadership Award from Princeton and was a Trustees’ Scholar at Fuller. Prior to coming to Occidental, Tiffany worked as a hospital chaplain and served at two Presbyterian churches in the Los Angeles area. She has extensive experience in racial reconciliation ministry and campus ministry and is especially passionate about witnessing to Jesus through Christian education, justice work, spiritual formation, pastoral care, and preaching. For Tiffany, getting to live out these passions at Occidental is the greatest honor and privilege. She lives in Pasadena with her husband (Justin) and two kids (Jude, 7 and Reese, 3) and takes immense joy in the outdoors, lattes, early morning runs, the performing arts, family, and friends.
